European condemnation for Israeli practices
Israeli bulldozers and armored vehicles on Tuesday demolished two Palestinian houses in "Beit Amer" to the north of Hebron under the pretext that one Israeli settler was killed near them.
The Israeli forces also tightened the siege against the cities of Ramallah and Beir Zeit and carried out a vast detention campaign of arrest that targeted tens of Palestinian youths.
Meantime, the delegation of the European Union EU currently visiting the occupied territories under the chairmanship of the chairperson of the European Union ( foreign minister of Sweden whose country assumed the current rotating presidency of the EU) Anna Liend and the EU commissioner for foreign relations Cress Paten called on Israel to halt its economic and oppressive practices imposed on the Palestinian people.
Members of the delegation said that the tightened siege imposed by Israel against the Palestinians cities resulted in freezing the economic movement and the deterioration of the living conditions of the Palestinian people.
During their meeting with the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, members of the EU delegation stressed that the siege escalates the Palestinian Intifada.
