Israel seeks to foil Syria's membership to the UN security council

Israel's permanent representative at the UN Ehuda Lansouri said on Sunday that Israel is currently studying how to prevent the possibility of Syria's joining the UN Security Council.

Lansouri said in a statement to the Israeli radio on the possibility of Syria's joining the UN Security Council that each country nominated to join to UN Security Council has to meet article 23 which is the need to prove its contributions to stability and to making peace in the region.
