Mubarak and Sharon

The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon has recently delegated to Cairo the former chairman of the Israeli Mossad Shaftai Shafit in a special mission to Egypt, during which he met with the chairman of the Egyptian general intelligence department Omar Suleiman.

The Israeli radio said that Shafir conveyed a message addressed from Sharon to the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in which he stressed work to give a push forward to the Middle East peace process.

The Israeli radio continued that the aim of this mission is to close a page following the exchange of statements between he Egyptian President and Sharon on the wake of the recent elections in Israel.
