Originally published

Morocco and India signed this Tuesday two cooperation agreements, including a bilateral political declaration.

During a signing ceremony -chaired by King Mohammed VI and India's premier Atal Bihari Vajpayee- the two countries' foreign ministers signed a political declaration called "the Delhi Declaration" that confirms strategic partnership between the two countries.

Morocco's minister of agriculture, rural development, water and forests, Ismail Alaoui, and Indian agriculture minister, Nitish Kumara, then sign an accord providing for cooperation in quarantine and plants protection and a second one on sanitary and veterinary cooperation.

Morocco and India also signed a cultural agreement, defining a rich program of cultural action for the 2001-2003 period. The document was signed by Morocco's minister of culture and communication, Mohamed Achaari, and Indian tourism and culture minbister, Ananth Kumar.

The package of agreements was signed after King Mohammed VI, who is on an official visit to India, was given a red carpet official welcome and after talks with the Indian premier.
