Sharon to find out possibilities of resuming negotiations with President al-Assad
In its program " this morning " the Israeli radio on Wednesday said that the Israeli prime minister elect Ariel Sharon is intended to feel Syria's impulse to find out the possibilities of resuming negotiations with President Bashar al- Assad.
The radio added that the European Union envoy to the Middle East Miguel Moratinos might visit Syria shortly after he had met with Sharon last week.
The radio added that the former secretary general of the Israeli foreign ministry Eitan Bin Tsour met during his visit to London with the special envoy for the British rime Minister Tony Blair for the Middle East Lord Michael Levy. Two months ago President al-Assad met with President Bashar al-Assad and although Bin Tsout that, yet it seemed that the Syrian track was discussed between Bin Tsour and Levy.
Sources close to Sharon said that he intends to concentrate first on the Palestinian track and not on the Syrian track and that he does not intend to make negotiations with the Palestinians and the Syrian simultaneously as resigned prime minister Ehud Barak had done.
