Indonesian President confers with Israeli official

Indonesia's foreign minister Elwei Sheab on Wednesday unveiled that Indonesia's President Abdul Rahman Waheed met by the beginning of January this year with an official in the Israeli government.

Shehab told the Indonesian parliament that " Wahid" met with the Israeli deputy minister of commerce Reyovin Hurish in an unofficial way in order to discuss the possibility of establishing trade relations between Israel and Indonesia.

Shehab added that the foreign ministry had no information about that visit at that time despite the fact that the local media issued rumors about convening this meeting.
