Some 27 persons, Islamic leader killed in Algiers

An armed group on Saturday evening killed 27 Algerian citizens in one of the poor areas near Deyar al-Shams in al-Berwateyah city in al-Medya province, some 100 kilometers to the south of Algiers. These include 11 children age between 6 months- 14 year old and 12 women.

The Algerian dailies al-Bilad, al-Khabar, al-Youm, al-Shourouq al-Yaumi issued on Monday morning said that the armed men split into several groups one of them opened fire in the air and when people get out of the cottages frightening trying to escape other groups kill them.

On the other hand, these papers said that Ali Murad, one of the makers of the Islamic army truce for salvation with the Algerian army was assassinated in front of his house in Souq Ahras, 600 kilometers from Algeria.

Meantime, the Algerian daily al-Khabar said on Monday that an armed group also assassinated on Friday evening three citizens in Skikda province situated to the east part of the country, 500 Kms from the capital Algiers.
