Egypt, Italy probe health cooperation

Health and Population Minister Ismail Sallam Tuesday held a meeting with Italian assistant foreign minister and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting dealt with vistas of bilateral cooperation in the health field, Sallam added.

Italy's contribution to supplying a number of Egyptian hospitals with necessary equipment was also discussed at the meeting.

Talks covered the possibility of setting up modern centers to combat cancer in cooperation with the Italian side.

Vandini, on his part, expressed the Italian government's interest in promoting cooperation with Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Egypt's ambassador to Italy Nihad Abdel Latif and the Italian charge d'affaires in Cairo.
