Continued contacts to close the file of Jordanian prisoners in Syria
The Saudi daily al-Watan has said that Syria will release 8 Jordanian detainees by the end of this month and that contacts are continuous and positive towards ultimate closure of the file of those prisoners
The paper added quoting a well-informed Jordanian source that several Jordanian prisoners were released in Syria, noting the delay in the travel of many of them is due to the fact they do not have " personal documents" to prove their identity and they can not travel unless their passports are renewed.
The charge de affairs at the Jordanian embassy in Damascus Ahmad al-Miflih said that the embassy sent a note to the government in Syria in limiting the number of Jordanian prisoners held in Syria and accusations addressed to them, their imprisonment sentences and determining the places where they are jailed. He noted he felt from the Syrian side all co-operation to ultimately close the file of the prisoners.
The paper indicated that so far and since the beginning of President Bashar 'a rule 30 Jordanian were released from the Syrian jails.
