Bahrain's crown prince Sheikh salman Bin hamad al-Khaleifa has called on the Bahraini citizens including the opposition in exile to achieve " a great leap" towards democracy through voting for the national document project which states to revive back the parliamentary life.

Meantime, a people's committee has called on the ruler of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani to improve the political conditions in the country.

Sheikh Salman said " it is a great leap for Bahrain," in remarks to the national document project which will be put into a people's referendum on February 14 and 15.

It is expected that 217,000 Bahraini ( more than half of the country's population) to take part in the referendum on converting the country into a constitutional monarchy and to re-store back the parliament which was dissolved in q975.

Meanwhile, the people's committee which in 1995 collected 20,000 signatures calling for the revival of the parliament has welcomed " the reforms already started by the Emir of the country Sheikh Hamad."

The committee which was including 12 members in 1994 before jailing most of its members called in a message to the ruler of Bahrain for " preparing the healthy political atmosphere through abrogating the state security law and releasing the Amnesty law for all political detainees and ensuring unconditional return back of all expelled Bahraini citizens outside the country."
