Al-Qaddafi to visit Sudan

Libyan President Mu'ammar al-Qaddafi will pay a visit to Sudan on February 11th to take part in the summit meeting of the desert and coasts coalition states due to start deliberations on February 12 in al-Khartoum.

Sudanese foreign relations minister Mustafa Othman Ismael said in a statement to the Sudanese Akhbar al-Youm al-Osbo' ( The weekly daily news" issued on Saturday that col. Al-Qaddafi will brief the Sudanese government during this visit with the result of the efforts made by the Libyan leadership during the meetings of the Sudanese opposition political forces to convene a conference with the representatives for the government.

He added that the Sudanese government does not oppose convening the pan- dialogue conference at any time whenever the opposition sides show readiness to attend it. He explained that there were recent contacts between the Sudanese and the Libyan governments towards this effect in which the Libyan leadership expressed strong care to convene this conference whether the rebellions leader John Garang will or will not agree it.
