Four Arab foreign ministers meet in Rabat in march on free-trade area

Originally published

The foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia will hold a meeting in Rabat next March to ponder on the creation of a free-trade area between the four Arab states, reported Egyptian Akhbar Al-Yaoum daily.

The daily, quoting diplomatic sources, said the meeting was initially scheduled for mid-February but was postponed to a later date, after the 13th Arab summit due to be held in Amman in March.

The foreign ministers' meeting will be held at the initiative of Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa.

Each of the four countries has signed, on a bilateral level, with the three others agreements on the setting up of free-trade zones.
