Sudanese foreign relations minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has stated that his country told the Kenyan government that the 6 persons who are suspected to be involved in exploding the US embassy in Nairobi are not Sudanese.

In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Rai al-Am, Ismael explained that the preliminary information available for the government which follows the situation now indicate that the IDs and documents of the 6 persons are falsified and that the Kenyan authorities have become aware that those convicted are not in Sudan.

Ismael indicated even it was proved that that those convicted persons are carrying Sudanese passports, these passports are false, noting that the Sudanese embassy follows up this matter in Nairobi and that there are contacts that are being made between the Sudanese and the Kenyan governments to that effect.

Earlier news reports especially AFP said that Nairobi on Friday evacuated six Sudanese who are suspected to be involved in bombarding the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar al-Salaam in August, 1998 reported SANA.
