US Vanco Energy Launches Oil Drilling off Safi

The US oil firm Vanco Energy announced on Friday the launching of oil drilling operations off the Moroccan Atlantic coast city of Safi and Ras Tafelni (350 km south of Rabat). The drilling works, to last until the end of next April, will use for the first time the 3 D seismic method over 3000 square kilometers and at a 1500 to 2500 meter depth.

The Texas-based firm is specializing in deep waters oil drilling.
