Originally published

A well-informed Syrian source in a statement issued on Thursday by the London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat has categorically denied news stated by the Israeli daily Haartez on that the Syrian armed forces were put in a state of alert of fears of an Israeli large scale attack before the Israeli elections.

Commenting on what was stated by Haartez in that Israel has recently made assurances to Syria that it has no aggressive intention via the US, the Syrian well-informed sources said that news are fabricated and are futile and groundless..

The source explained that the Israelis sought to add some seriousness on these threats though fabricating news saying that the Syrian leadership took these threats seriously and announced a state of alert among its forces.
