Government reshuffle expected in Syria in March
The Lebanese daily al-Safir on Monday quoted well-informed sources saying that the Syrian leadership asked the prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro to prepare a report to assess the government's performance in order to submit it to the central committee of the Baath Arab socialist part, to be held in March, amid expectations to make a governmental reshuffle at that month.
The sources added that the meeting of the central committee will be the first step in the framework of a vast plan to revitalize the role played by the Party establishments and reviving them through making it contribute to discussing and approving state decisions.
The same sources added that in its draft the evaluation report indicates the negative figures in the government's economic performance, but at the same time noted the negative accumulation the government had faced since it had come to power.
