Some 15 Algerians killed as a result of gunmen in east Algeria

news reports in Algiers said on Thursday that some 15 persons including 11 military-men were killed on Thursday in two attacks carried out by armed groups in the eat of Algeria.

The French language Algerian daily " Liberty" said in its Thursday's issue that some 11 military- men were killed when an explosive went off in Batinah region, situated 435 Kms to the east of the capital Algiers.

Meantime, also the French- Language Algerian daily " le Matin" said on Thursday that four persons were killed by knives on Thursday, earlier in the day, in al-Aghwat situated, 400 km to the south of the capital Algiers. The paper added that 8 persons were killed so far in the said area.
