January 4 , 2001 reaching peace agreement, possible if mysterious points in US plan became clear

Egypt's Ambassador to Israel Mohamed Bassyouny said that Palestinians are serious in their endeavors for reaching a final peace.

Bassyouny said in statements to Radio London that a virtual, progress has taken place regarding many subjects, adding that Palestinians were in need of clarifying mysterious ideas and to bring negotiations back to the starting point.

He said mysterious ideas which have been put forward need to be clarified adding that this does not mean rejection or acceptance of the initiative. He indicated that a framework agreement could_ be reached if the US Administration clarified mysterious ideas and dispelled skepticism over some points.

Bassyouny said talks about sovereignty over Jerusalem and the right of return to refugees should be clear-cut in order to avoid various interpretations.
