Nationwide 24 hour telecommunication strike on january 10

Originally published

The national posts and telecommunications union announced a 24-hour strike for January 10 in the telecommunications sector.

A release of the union says the stoppage was decided to protest the lack of response from national operators "Maroc Telecom" and "Barid Al Maghrib" to the call to strike by the union's council in the wake of its emergency meeting in Casablanca. The council made the call and said the bureau would later set the date for the stoppage.

The union recalls "neglect" of human resources by the two operators and stressed the necessity to upgrade their financial situation and meet their expectations.
