Several people arrested for staging non-authorized demonstrations

Several people were arrested Sunday in some cities for staging unauthorized demonstrations. The Interior ministry had announced in a release on Saturday the banning of demonstrations in several Moroccan cities on Dec. 9-10.

The demonstrators were arrested to preserve freedom of movement and public order, sources from the interior ministry said. The persons arrested will stand trial, said the source.
