Meeting in Morocco probes relation between cinema and human rights
The local branches of Amnesty International and cinema-clubs will hold this Dec.11-18 in Settat (central Morocco) a conference on cinema and human rights.
The conference themed "Let's make of image a means of struggle against violence" features movies, like "Amok," adapted from "Cry beloved country" by Moroccan Souhail Benbarka, "stolen childhood" by Hakim Noury and "The destiny" by Egyptian Youssef Chahine.
The movies and documentaries featured will be followed by debates on the importance of images to fight some forms of human rights abuses like torture and violence against women and children.
