Sudanese rebels kill 8 relief workers

Originally published

The Sudanese daily al-Wefaq ( reconciliation ) said on Wednesday that the rebellion movement led by John Garang in the South killed 8 relief workers near the border between Sudan and Uganda.

The paper quoted the spokesman for the Norwegian relief agency which works in the region as saying that some 11 persons were in the car when it was attacked by the soldiers of the rebellion movement and set fire in it.

The spokesman did not set the date for the attack, but he explained that three persons of the relief workers who were searching for civilians and evacuated to the Sudanese side, had escaped the attack launched by the rebellion forces against their colleagues in the said car.
