An Israeli plan against Lebanon

The Paris based paper al- Muharrir news issued on Friday said that Israel has put a plan, and briefed Washington with it. This plan states to encourage a Lebanese internal resistance against the Syrian presence, similar to the resistance maintained by the Hizbullah party against Israel.

The paper added that this project encourages to make pressures to release Samir Geagea and to provoke the Lebanese forces to confront the Syrian presence by all means and that Israel will ensure all means for that purpose.

The paper quoted a high ranking diplomat in a key Western country in the region as saying that Israel's aim out of these things is to get one of two results: the first is to take Hizbullah out of the game of resistance for getting out the opposition represented in the Lebanese forces and its allies. The Western diplomat added that the second result is an increasing backing for the Lebanese forces and its allies of the Maronite political bloc, in a way to constitute a continued threat to Syria that goes with the extent of threat the Hizbullah party constitutes to Israel.
