European union ambassadors in Morocco visit Agadir region

Originally published

The ambassadors of the European Union member countries in Morocco pay November 16-17 a working visit to the region of Agadir and Taroudant to show the union's interest for a close cooperation with the regions of southern Morocco.

A communiqué by the French embassy here -France holds the EU chairmanship- said the diplomats will hold a working session with the Wali (senior governor) of Agadir and visit the port and the construction site of a tourism complex in the city.

They will also hold a meeting with "Migration et developpement," a NGO conducting several EU-financed projects.

The European diplomats will visit agricultural and irrigation projects in the Souss Massa region where the French Development Agency is financing several projects. A trip to the village of Agni N'Fad where the German GTZ is financing micro-projects, including a women's cooperative for the production of a typically regional oil and a cooperative for agricultural equipment manufacturing, is also on the schedule.
