Al-Assad confers with Jerusalem Mufti

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received Jerusalem's Mufti Sheikh Ikramah Saeed Sabri, chairman of the Muslim scholars league in Palestine Abdul Rahman Abbad, member of the Islamic Commission Hamra Deib Mustafa and chairman of the Muslim- Christian Dialogue Committee Ahmad Tahboub.

The Mufti of Jerusalem and members of the accompanying delegation briefed the president on conditions in the occupied palestinian territories and the struggle mounted by the palestinian people against the Israeli aggression.

The president hailed the struggle mounted by the Palestinians people in Palestine and stressed Syria's stances in support of their rights.

Later in the day the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro discussed with the Palestinian delegation, the Palestinian people's steadfastness in defending their rights and the holy shrines.
