Russia, Qatar for promoting bilateral relations

Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov has discussed with his Russian counterpart Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem al-Thani during their meeting in Moscow on Friday bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing them in the service of joint interests and the situation in the Middle East region.

Talks, during the meeting, also dealt with fields of economic and trade cooperation and gas exploration between Russia and Qatar as they occupy a main and important position in this regard.

The Russian side expressed its interest to attracting the Qatari funds for investment in the Russian economy.

Meantime, the Qatari foreign minister is on a work visit to Moscow during which he will hand over a message to the Russian President Vladimir Putin from the Ruler of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani concerning the Middle East peace process and stopping the blood-shed in the Palestinian areas.
