Portugal Backs Involving Mauritania to Euro-Med Dialogue

Portugal backs Mauritania's adherence as a full-fledged member in the Euro-Mediterranean dialogue, official sources in Nouakchott said.

"Portugal expressed backing to Mauritania's participation in the Euro-Mediterranean process," said a communiqué made public at the end of a visit Portuguese foreign secretary, Luis Amado, paid to the Maghreban country.

Mauritania is an observer member in the dialogue, which seeks to develop association and cooperation between the European Union and the other Mediterranean countries.
