Barak and Sharon fail to agree on unity government
Despite of not reaching an agreement concerning establishing an Israel national unity government in the meeting that took place yesterday between Prime minister Ihud Barak and chief of Likud party Ariel Sharn.
The negotiations between the two resumed their endeavors to overcome the main dispute point concerning how to take the political and security decisions in the unity government and Sharon's demands of the government's abandoning to Camp David's "trivialities."
Barak newly refused Likud's demand that his chief would have the veto right over the political decisions especially when Barak saw it is a must to resume the negotiations with the Palestinians and Sharon makes a condition to be an equal partner for Barak in taking the security decision in case of the Palestinians' declarations to their independent country.
