Al-Bashir to attend African summit
Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir starts today a visit to Zambia and will lead an official delegation to take part in the summit of Sudan's East and South bordering states.
This summit starts today in Lusaka and will last for two days. It marks the declaration of the establishment of the free trade area between the organization's 22- member states whose total population exceed 360 million.
However, the declaration of the free trade area between these countries is considered a culmination of a series of steps and arrangements taken by this organization to reduce customs fees on trade among the member states. This means total exemption of fees on exports and imports among the said coalition as from the beginning of November.
So far 11 states of this organization supported this step and vowed to join the free trade area while other countries including Burundi, Rwanda and Seashell announced they will join it later and other countries said it will postpone its membership until its internal conditions are settled.
