Syrian and Egyptian planes arrive in Baghdad today
The general secretariat of the international federation of the Arab workers trade union organizes a flight from Damascus to Baghdad today with the aim to alleviate the sufferings of the people of Iraq and make efforts to enabling it restoring its Arab status.
In Baghdad, an Iraqi official said that a plane coming from Damascus carrying an Arab trade union delegation is expected to arrive today in Baghdad, and that an Egyptian plane will also arrive carrying 120 Egyptian artistic and political figures.
On Wednesday, a small Turkish plane landed at Baghdad's international airport, carrying a delegation representing businessmen in a fifth Turkish plane flight in solidarity with the Iraqi people under the embargo since 10 years.
On another development, Iraq announced on Wednesday that Jordan stopped the use of the US dollar in its trade ties with Iraq and used instead the EURO or other available European currencies.
The chairman of the Jordanian trade center in Baghdad Maan al-Azizi said that this step came in response to the decision taken by Iraq last month to stop dealing with US currency.
Al-Azizi explained that Iraq is considered the most important trade partner for his country and that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeded US $ one billion since Iraq had started its oil for food program.
