Mauritania fears impact of uprising scenes broadcasted by TV
The Mauritanian government asked Qatar's embassy in Nouashott to stop previewing programs on its al-Jazira satellite channel that depict the Palestinian uprising.
Informed Mauritanian sources said that Qatari ambassador was summoned yesterday and Nouakshott informed him officially with the demand and no reasons were stated for this procedure, yet the sources said that "the Mauritanian authorities fear the impact of the channel's coverage of the existing massacres in Palestine on the angry Mauritanian public."
Observers related the authorities' fear to the repeated violence works by the youths in the universities during the current protestations since the beginning of the events in the occupied Palestine.
