Germany agrees to mediate regarding Israelis held by Hizbullah
The German magazine Der Spiegel said in today's issue that the German government had agreed to play the role of the mediator in the process of exchanging the three Israeli military men held by the Lebanese Hizbullah party and wants to exchange them with the 10 Lebanese held in Israel.
The magazine added that Germany has responded to the request made by the secretary general of the Hizbullah Party Hassan Nasrullah but Israel is hesitant to agree on this mediation.
In previous years, Germany mediated between Israel and the Hizbullah party in a similar matter and its efforts had a great success.
Russian news reports said that the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak delegated a special envoy to Moscow, Roman Brongman who asked for the Russian officials to help in ensuring the release of the three Israeli soldiers and the " army officer held by the Hizbullah."
