The succession of Arafat, few can fill the position

The Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas said that Israeli sources and the studies center in Tel Aviv and Washington started recently to leak names of Palestinian candidates to succeed Arafat.

The names published by the Israeli and American sources are Marwan al-Barghouthi, col. Mahmoud Abbas, Ahmad Qrei’ col. Muhammad Dahlan, col. Jibril al-Rajjoub.

Palestinian sources living in London said no one of those will fill the space that will be left in Arafat's absence at the meantime.

Meantime, a Palestinian source stressed that one of the main problem which will face a substitute for Arafat is the backing he has to received from the group Arafat had assigned to run the Palestinian revolution funds, its international investments and the money of the Palestinian government, if Arafat disappears suddenly.
