Muslim, Jewish leaders meet in London

Originally published

Muslim and Jews leaders representing the Muslim and Jewish communities in North London district held meetings on Wednesday to discuss means of avoiding the occurrence of ethnic acts of violence between Muslims and Jews in London after an extremist Orthodox Jew was stabbed by an Algerian in London's downtown on Tuesday.

A statement by the municipal council for the north London area said that the two sides urged Britain's Muslims and Jews to the need of maintaining self-control and not to resort to ethnic violence which will damage the interests of the two sides in Britain.

On the other hand, Israel's ambassador in London Dror Regermann met with representatives of the British ministry of the Interior in London in which he expressed his concern over the attack on the said Jew by a Muslin in London on Tuesday. The Israeli ambassador asked the British authorities to strengthen guarding on the Jewish synagogues in Britain.
