Somali official assassinated in Makadishu

Unidentified persons on Wednesday assassinated Youssef Talan one of the Aides of the Somali President Abdul Qasem Salat Hassan in the southern part of Makadishu.

Tlan was killed in the southern sector of Makadishu which is under the control of the war leader Hussein Muhammad Aideed. No side declared responsibility for the assassination.

The victim is a former General in the Somali army during the rule of President Muhammad Seyad Berri. He took part in Arta conference in Djibouti for national reconciliation as a representative. A conference in which Salat Hassan was elected as a president.

Worthy mentioning, the Somali President is now in Makadishu, but most of the groups leaders have not recognized him.
