Palestinian official: Extending Sharm El-Sheik meeting is evidence of disputes
Jamil El-Tereifi, the Palestinian civil affairs minister, assured that "extending the Sharm EL-Sheik meetings indicates that the Palestinian - Israeli disputes still exist concerning the causes of discussion."
He said that the Palestinian people uprising is an expression about the horrible crimes committed by the Israeli side against the Islamic holy places as well as the Moslems.
He said that the Palestinian requests must be fulfilled which are stopping the Israeli attack, withdrawing the Israeli forces, applying the international legitimacy resolutions and forming an international fact-finding investigation committee for guaranteeing that such events will not be repeated such as provoking acts against the Islamic holy places as well as the Moslems.
Meantime, an official sources said that a joint team work to crystallize what have been discussed concerning the basic issues to be raised at the concluding session adding that there is a remarkable progress during the meeting.
While Yasser Abd Raboh, the minister of Palestinian information, said that "the Palestinian authority rejects Israel's refusal to withdraw its forces to their former positions and disarming the Fath organization and the redetention of Hamas and Jihad leaders whom were released lately."
Other sources said that Israel still refuses the Palestinian request concerning forming an international committee to investigate in the reasons of the latest events yet it offers forming a fact finding committee headed by U.S.A.
Meantime, there are indications that the results of the summit do not appeal to the Syrians. Furthermore, many still think that this meeting's aim was to halt al-Aqsa uprising and gives nothing new to the Palestinians. Even when Mubarak was declaring the outcome of the meeting one Palestinian was killed by the Israeli fire. Also there is a strong believe by some that Arafat will not be able to implement the summit's condition on the Palestinians. Palestinian personalities in TV statements including Hanan Ashrawi said that what have been adopted in the summit do not meet the minimum expectations of the Palestinians.
