Royal call on 14th national immunization days

Originally published

Morocco's King Mohammed VI called Moroccans to massively respond to the 14th National Immunization Days to open Oct. 14 with a target of 2,8 million children under five and a million of women at reproductive age.

The document read out by adviser Abbas Al Jirari recalled previous campaigns which raised the country to the level of international standards and success recorded such as eradication of deadly diseases such as polio, neo-natal tetanus and small-pox and drastic reduction of mortality in women and less than one year-old.

These efforts, said Al Jirari, will go on backing immunization against liver-cirrhosis and B-hepatitis virus. Important resources have been mobilized to that end to help cover all newborns, especially those of needy households illustrating, once more, solidarity adopted as a means to secure social justice and equal opportunity.

The campaign to be launched Saturday will be followed by a second one on November 21, the royal message said, insisting all means have been mustered to make the campaign a nationwide success benefiting rural areas.

The royal call urges parents to respond, en masse, to make the most of the campaign and have children less than five and women at reproductive age immunized to help build a healthy society.
