Originally published

Informed Palestinian sources said that the U.N secretary general Kofi Annan proposed to Arafat to send an international committee comprising Norwegian and U.S representatives in an implementation to the Security Council's condemnation resolution concerning the latest crisis between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

The sources said that Arafat refused the proposal and it was decided that Annan will hold a second session with Arafat today morning to resume the consultations he started yesterday.

The first meeting lasted for two hours and Annan refused to wait for the journalists' questions and said that the trip exhausted him.
