United Arab Emirates population exceeds 3 million

Population of the United Arab Emirates UAE has in this year exceeded 3 million and the number is expected to reach 3,479,449 by the year 2005, according to statistics at the UAE ministry of statistics.

The UAE daily al-Itihad said on Monday that since the foundation of the UAE state in 1971 four census were made with the first in 1975 when the number of the population was 557.187 and the number increased to 2.411.041 in 1995.

It was found out that the rate of population growth in the same period decreased from 147.23% to 80.74% and is expected to get decrease to 44.31% between 1995 and 2005.
