Originally published

Pope Shenouda III condemned the flagrant Israeli aggression on the Palestinians in the al-Aqsa Mosque.

He urged the large international organizations such as the UN Security Council and the United Nations to make a decision to stop this bleeding and condemn the doer.

In his statements on Jerusalem events, Pope Shenouda said, "I have been greatly touched for the atrocious assault on our Palestinian brothers in the Aqsa Mosque which resulted in so many killed and injured ."

"I have mostly touched that such an aggression was committed against a sacred holy place, shedding blood of worshippers in a time when peace negotiations are going on seeking to reach a final settlement." He was astonished as the Security Council and the United Nations have not yet made any decision . He said, "we sympathize with our Palestinian brothers and offer our condolences to afflicted families. We appeal to those in charge to adopt a decision as to such agonizing events."

In his statements to Al Wafd, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr. Sayyed Tantawi called on Moslems' solidarity in face of Israeli violations to the Islamic sanctuaries.
