Sudanese government was accused of detaining Islamists
The Sudanese Islamic al-Khalas ( salvation) movement has accused the government of launching a large- scale detention campaign against the Islamists especially the movement's leaderships and called for their immediate release.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Sudanese paper al-Rai al-Akhar the movement said that the government has not kept its promises and violated the constitution by detaining several students and Islamic leaderships, stressing that the movement will proceed forward in its programs and principles despite this campaign.
In its statement, the movement mentioned the names of 9 persons arrested by the Sudanese authorities. They include the movement's secretary general Saleh Muhammad Saleh, the chairman of the federation of the holy Koran university students Muhammad Ibrahim Ahmad and the federation's secretary general Hamad Othman al-Raki.
