The US trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has donated the Moroccan electricity board "ONE" $ 306,180 to develop its telecommunications network.

ONE said the existing fiber optics network used to exploit and develop the electric system could be used to supply to a third party telecommunications services.

ONE also recalls that the USTDA had already financed with a $ 40,000 donation a feasibility study that concluded to the pertinence of developing the ONE fiber optics network as an alternative facility.

The donation agreement was signed on Wednesday by ONE general manager, Driss Benhima and USTDA manager, Joe Grandmaison.
