Demonstrations to release Lebanese detainees in Israeli and Syrian prisons

Tens of Lebanese most of whom are Christians organized a demonstration before the Maronite patriarch yesterday to demand releasing their relatives in the Israeli and Syrian prisons.

The demonstrations urged the Lebanese President Emil Lahud and leader of the army on exerting their best efforts to release the detainees.

For his part, the Lebanese Druz leader urged on resuming the discussion with the Christian organizations and he criticized chasing the followers of Michael Aoun - the former head of the military government.

In press declarations to Mostaqbal newspaper yesterday, Walid Junblat said It is wrong to stop the discussion, assuring that it is only the way to achieve sovereignty and independence to Lebanon.
