Egyptian labor party boycott the coming parliamentary elections
The opposition Egyptian labor party said it will boycott the parliamentary elections in Egypt next month. The party justified his decision with the procedures taken by the Egyptian authorities against its candidates and their followers.
The party suffers now a freeze of its activity and the closure of its newspaper El-Shaab as well as putting most of its leaders on trial.
Adel Hussein, the secretary general of the labor party said that "the party's members have the right to participate unilaterally yet the participation will be limited because the stressing circumstances for banning us from the participation as a party are the same which will confront any candidate and he will be in a difficult situation."
He added that "the procedures that have been taken through the last period to besiege the party by terrifying its members is an indicator to what is going on in the electoral battle for that any candidate from the party will be confronted with a strong forgery operation against him."
