A message from Emir of Qatar to President al-Assad

A Qatari official delegation including the minister of energy, industry, electricity and waters Abdullah Hamad al-Ateyah, the finance and economy minister Youssef Hussein and the chairman of the higher committee for tourism Sheikh Abdullah Bin Ahmad al-Thani arrived in Damascus on Saturday in a two day visit.

At the airport, the delegation was welcomed by the Syrian finance minister and Qatar's charge de affairs in Damascus.

In an arrival statement to SANA, al-Ateyah expressed happiness together with members of the accompanying delegation to visit Damascus. He said:" he is carrying a message to President Bashar al-Assad from Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani of the state of Qatar pertaining to various areas of cooperation between Qatar and Syria.

He added " we concentrate in developing these relations on principles resulted from the recent visit held by the ruler of Qatar to Syria and his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad and ways of developing this cooperation especially in the economic field and joint investments." He stressed his country's care to develop relations with Syria in all fields.
