A workers rally in Bahrain calls for unity with Qatar

A people's rally organized by the workers of Bahrain on last Monday called for " extending bridges of cooperation and closeness with the brothers in Qatar so as to maintain a federation between the two countries."

The rally which was organized in support of the Bahraini leadership in its stand towards the Qatari- Bahraini border disputes called on the people and government of Qatar to maintain a sincere national initiative to eliminate all tensions in order to preserve the region's security and stability. The participants in the rally expressed hope that Qatar will make a referendum for unity between the two states.

In a message addressed to the rally, the Emir of Bahrain expressed his pride over this initiative in being a noble national stand advocated by the workers of Bahrain and a reflection of their solidarity with the various social strata and the just national causes, adding " we are careful to strengthen ties of cooperation and closeness with our brothers in Qatar."
