Aref Dalila returns back to Damascus university
Well-informed sources in Damascus said on Tuesday that the Syrian leadership decided the return back the University economic teacher Dr. Aref Salila to his work at Damascus University after he had been suspended from teaching since three years because of his criticism to the performance of the former prime minister Mahmoud al-Zoubi.
The sources explained that the decision of the Syrian leadership came after Dalila was received by President Bashar al-Assad last week, considering that returning back Dalila to his due professional status came in the framework of reforms and openness operations led by President al-Assad.
In February, independent Syrian parliament member Riyadh Seif raised the issue of Dalila at the Syrian People's Assembly ( parliament) in a statement which had besides his own name the signatures of 22 of his parliamentary colleagues. In his statement Seif said that Dr. Dalila is one of the best Syrian economists who devoted their work to study the national economy and to learn the obstacles impeding its progress.
