Lebanese premier meets with Italian ambassador on non- governmental organization conference

Lebanese prime minister Salim al-Hoss on Tuesday in Beirut discussed with the Italian ambassador in Lebanon the convening of the non- governmental organization conference due to be held in Beirut on September 28.

Following the meeting, the Italian ambassador described the conference as very important because South Lebanon is in need of vital projects and the backing of non- governmental organizations to help the Lebanese people, in addition to governmental aids.

The Italian ambassador added that the projects which will be implemented are financed by Italy and the UN Development program, noting that these projects will concentrate on urgent and emergency issues, including the elimination of land mines and spreading awareness against its dangers.
