Jordanian parliament recommends release of political prisoners

The public freedom committee of the Jordanian parliament has recommended the government to issue an amnesty for political prisoners in Jordan.

In a report by the parliament, the committee called for submitting the report and its recommendations to the prime minister.

The report which was drawn following several visits held by the committee to the detention centers and prisons in Jordan, recommended to appoint doctors in certain detention centers. It stressed the need of carrying out detention operations calmly without terrifying the person to be detained by the security forces.
