Somali president to appoint new premier

Somali President elect Abdul Qasem Salat Hassan has stressed he will appoint a prime minister after his coming back from New York to take part in the UN Third Millennium meetings.

In a statement to the London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily issued on Monday President Hassan added he will work for finding out enough guarantees to for the success of the new Somali government in taking the country into stability, stressing his persistence to disarm the militias.

He continued that the selection of the cabinet ministers will be in line with balances based on the ideology or subjected to personal efficiencies.
